Drop-In Center for Individuals Living with Chronic Mental Illness and the Developmentally Disabled

In 2003, Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service responded to an important community need by implementing the Welcome Home Program. The goal was and still remains to assist those living with persistent mental illness to improve their life skills, social skills and employment skills. Now in its ninth year, the Welcome Home Program has expanded to include adults with developmental disabilities functioning at a high level of independence in community settings. Programming is provided by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Other professionals teach life skills, computer training, pet therapy, art therapy, financial literacy and job readiness.

The Drop-In Center is located at the Shirley & Barton Weisman Delray Community Center (7091 W Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33446 | 561-558-2100) and is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 12:00 to 4 PM

There is no cost to participate in the Welcome Home program or its activities, however, an interview is required before beginning the program.

The Welcome Home Program is generously supported by grants from:
United Way of South Palm Beach County
