A group of social service workers and representatives from organizations working to chronicle Holocaust victims and survivors met Thursday, April 3 at Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service of Palm Beach County, 9901 Donna Klein Blvd.
Cynthia Wroclawski is the international outreach manager for Yad Vashem Jerusalem, an organization created in 1955 that maintains a database of names, and she said time is truly of the essence.
"The amount of witnesses is continually growing smaller and smaller, and we really need to have a sense of urgency in gathering these accounts," she said. The Yad Vashem database has 3.3 million names to date, and online searches can be conducted by name, place of birth or occupation. Visit www.yadvashem.org. for more information.
